Eat Nutella

Long time no speak. Happy New Year to you!

*Crackling.* Come in Skazka. This is Houston. Over.

Um, yes? I mean, copy, Houston. Do you have something to say? Over.

*Clears throat* Uh, yes. You do know the new year for the Roman calendar was over two months ago, right? And if you were going for a Chinese New Year greeting, you missed that too. Over

*Sigh.* Yes, I'm more than well aware, thank you. Some of us have more than one problem to solve. Not really sure where you've been since January... Over.

*Silence.*

Houston? Sorry, that was uncalled for. I've been a little stressed. You probably don't get many days off either... Um, want a cookie? They're chocolate chip pecan.

*Pause.* Ok.

...

If that opening wasn't too idiotic for you, you're welcome to keep going. ;) I wish I could say that I've been stockpiling a lot of great content for posting in this "new" year, but unfortunately, "nil" would be the correct descriptive term. Been a demanding few months academically, and while I've worked on some creative projects, I've not yet decided how much to share here. Reading hasn't even been much of a priority. Other than 600-page textbooks. [Could also be because I've been stuck on Dune... It may be a good book, but I've not yet been particularly impressed.]

But that's not why I dropped in here. Today's PSA is short and sweet:

I'm here to tell you that you should eat Nutella.

[Not applicable to those of you with hazelnut allergies].

To put it another way, I just stopped in to say that it's ok to eat Nutella [provided it will not trigger anaphylactic shock for you].

What I really mean to say is that it's ok to "indulge" in the things that you enjoy. Several jars of Nutella recently entered my house, and after a multi-year hiatus, my taste buds reunited with their dear friend.

In like manner, it's also ok to take a breather. Your pastimes need not always involve "productivity." Shame doesn't need to follow your choice to watch YouTube instead of read. Or bake cookies instead of do laundry. Within reason, of course. I think we all know when we've allowed ourselves to overindulge.

Thoughts on this concept? Or on actual Nutella? Scratch that, there's no need to talk about Nutella. It need only be eaten.

[And lest I promote false advertising, the photo is from eons ago and is not actually Nutella (just chocolate). A blob of straight Nutella looks a bit too...well, you know].
